Anshul Parulkar, MD

Chief Operating Officer

Anshul is a Chief Fellow in the Cardiovascular Institute at Rhode Island Hospital (affiliated with Brown University) and a co-founder of KardioStatus, where he serves as the company's Chief Operating Officer. Anshul graduated from Brown after studying Economics and went on to a career as an investment banker in the healthcare and technology sectors, where he participated in over $2 billion in sell-side transaction volume, primarily in mergers and acquisitions.
After a year of basic research, he subsequently returned to Brown to complete his training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, specializing in advanced multimodality cardiovascular imaging. Throughout his medical training, Anshul has served in numerous leadership roles at the Medical School and Graduate Medical Education level. He has collaborated with Dr. Chu and several colleagues on a diverse body of clinical research to build and validate predictive analytics for specific cardiovascular issues, such as the detection of specific high-risk arrhythmias after heart valve surgery. He has authored several manuscripts on this topic and has presented at both national and international conferences within cardiology.
Drawing upon his former background in finance, Anshul has founded and built a network of physician industry advisors in the local Rhode Island innovation ecosystem that provides strategic guidance to life science entrepreneurs. Through this effort, he has personally been operationally involved in over 20 ventures in the medical technology, medical device, and pharmaceutical domains. At the conclusion of his fellowship, Anshul has accepted a position as an attending cardiologist and faculty member at the Corrigan Minehan Heart Center at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.
