Emily Wang
Digital Health Analyst
Emily Wang is a second-year medical student at the Warren Alpert Medical School whose passions are marked by an unwavering dedication to medical education, innovation, and service. Having previously worked as an ophthalmic technician, she fell in love with surgery’s power to restore a patient’s sense of self and autonomy. Additionally, she is deeply passionate about environmental sustainability and is a part of numerous school initiatives to reduce the healthcare industry's ecological footprint. Emily is also excited by healthcare innovation, particularly in the realms of digital health (utilizing biometric data) and MedTech. She sees the potential for groundbreaking advancements in these areas and aims to be at its forefront through her work with KardioStatus.
Emily also works to provide greater access to care for underserved populations like those experiencing homelessness through her work with the Rhode Island Medical Navigator Partnership. Beyond her medical pursuits, Emily is an advocate for children's health and STEM education. She founded the AMS chapter of the Community Health Advocacy Program (CHAP), which she led as an undergraduate at Brown. She recognizes the transformative power of education and mentorship, and she hopes to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals and innovators. In her free time, you'll find Emily playing the cello, reading fiction, and indulging in new baking recipes.
